Dana + Trent
How did you meet? (the bride and groom):
We both played Waterpolo and met through the sport.
Describe how Trent proposed.
We were in central park in New York having a picnic by the lake. We had spent our mornings separately. Trent was out buying food for the picnic that he had organised to have with me later that day and I spent the morning with my sister pampering ourselves getting our hair done. When we got to Central Park he picked a spot overlooking the lake (strategically picked) to tie into the many elements of his proposal. The special moment arrived when he asked me to stand up and take a photo of him next to his picnic setup. When I turned around my mum and sister were on the lake in a boat holding a sign that he had made saying will you marry me. All the while my father was behind a tree taking photos (causing people to think we were celebrities being papped). Trent still to this day doesn’t think that I said yes
Describe the wedding in a paragraphs?
It was the most amazing night of our lives. Everything was perfect. The day before we were a worried as the ceremony was outdoors and it had been pouring. It was forecasted to pour for the wedding day as well and the wet weather option was nowhere near as magical. The ceremony started at 4pm and was torrential raining up till 2pm when it stopped. The sun came out at 4pm and didn’t rain again until the 12:15am which is when the wedding ended! We were truly blessed for the day.
What was the best moment of the night?
All the speeches were so special. Wayne (Trent’s dad) tearing up whilst giving his speech Cary (Dana’s dad) and Lara’s (Dana’s sister) speech were amazing, they spoke to both of us personally and touched everyone in the room. Both of us writing his own vows created truly special moments we will never forget.
What do you feel was the most unique part of your wedding?
The location of the ceremony and how it was set up (and my dress).
What part of your wedding did you have to compromise on ?
Not many things, Dianne made sure we were able to get everything within budget the only thing we maybe had to compromise on was how many flowers we wanted, a girl can never have to many flowers!
Looking back, what’s one thing you’d change about your wedding ?
I probably would of changed the cake, we didn’t do any cake tasting and we got the venue to make the cake. It was beautiful but not really what we expected and tasted horrible.
